OK This Time It's a REAL Announcement

It's official! Kristin accepted Sonny (Gary) Simpson's proposal of marriage last Saturday. They are planning a very simple wedding in early June.
More to come, but I think they're considering June 7th (6/7/08) as a wedding date - it's a Saturday - so see if you can keep the date open:)

Now that the HoHoKus Whites have safely moved into their new abode, inquiring minds want to know? How is Maura doing? Are you guys about to lose your minds figuring out how to take care of three little angels at once?

Just a guess...

OK, Aunt Joan. My guess is Uncle Jimmy, Uncle Tom, Uncle John and Aunt Holli. (Can you tell I'm procrastinating? It's the first day of school tomorrow!)

Happy Labor Day and Guess Who?

Ten Gavipoints to the cousin who can identify four Gavigan kids in this picture taken March of 1957. And which ones are the neighbors???? [Hint: if you double-click on the picture, it'll be easier to see without your glasses.]
Any problems? Ask your parents!
Have a great day everyone!

Dori at work

Yes, yet another Gavigan makes it into the news - and the pole- eece are involved, LOL!
Click on the title to this entry and you'll get the link to the Baltimore Sun article. Dori is in the picture - but she's in the background and her back is turned to you.

here's the link again:

http://www.baltimoresun.com/news/local/howard/bal-ho.call05aug05,0,5107367.story

Page two of the article has this about Dori:

The waiting and nightmarish scenarios can be nerve-wracking."A woman just delivered a baby in the back seat of her car," an unknown woman told 911 operator Dori Lefkowitz on July 23 before transferring the call and hanging up.Lefkowitz, 28, quickly ascertained that the new mother's husband, who was hysterical, was racing to the hospital."Pull over, sir," Lefkowitz repeatedly told him."I need you to stop," she implored. It took her several minutes - what seemed like an eternity - to persuade him pull over to the shoulder on Route 32 and wait for an ambulance."Where is the baby?" Lefkowitz asked once he stopped."On the floor," he said."Is the baby breathing?" she asked."What?" he yelled over the sound of whooshing cars."Sir, close your window. Is - the - baby - breathing?" she asked again, this time slower and louder."Yes, the baby is crying," he said.Lefkowitz instructed the man to wrap the newborn in a towel, and before she could tell him to use his shoelace to tie off the umbilical cord, paramedics arrived.

I guess she's just like her Uncle Brian:)

Quick Announcement

No not that kind!
Just want to ask everyone, if you got an e-mail from me or gaviganrelatives@gmail.com inviting you to contribute to the blog, and you see that someone else in the family didn't get this e-mail, please know it's not intentional. I just don't have everyone's e-mail and simply copied the recipients of GG's e-mail last week. Hope that makes sense.

Anyway, if there's a Gavigan, Dwyer, White, Smith, Rasweiler, Collins, O'Hara, Lefkowitz or whoever out there that I've missed and you have their e-mail address, please forward that e-mail to them or let me know and I'll send it. I'm at joan.gavigan@gmail.com in case you misplaced Erin and GG's list!
Thanks everyone!
Aunt Joan
